Investing in Place. Investing in People.
Cyndi lived and taught in Israel for five years before pursuing Ph.D. studies on the biblical view of place. Motivated by engaging the land of the Bible and by watching her students connect with the geographical, historical, cultural, and political context of the biblical text, Cyndi began her academic (yet very personal) investigation into the innate human need to belong to place. Although she is a self-described nomad, Cyndi recognizes the benefit of cultivating a sense of rootedness both in a place and also in a narrative. Cyndi now teaches students of all ages in universities and churches around the world about engaging the grand biblical narrative embedded in both historical and contemporary places.
